In 2010 when I was Deputy General Manager at Manly Council I led the review and change management of the Council’s Advisory Committee system, reducing from 52 to 16 Committees meeting bi-monthly or quarterly rather than the previous monthly cycle which was very resource intensive. The governance procedures were refreshed and the Chair of the Bicycle Committee didn't like the changes and so made a complaint to the Ombudsman. The full report into the complaint and investigation is available at the NSW Ombudsman's website: https://www.ombo.nsw.gov.au/ Unfortunately the complaint was in my name. I was exonerated by the Ombudsman and his letter is available by clicking on the link above. It says that the report 'makes no adverse finding or comment about your conduct as the Deputy General Manager of Manly.'
